Second thoughts?

We all change our minds from time to time, and deciding who manages your claim is no different.

If you are unhappy with any part of our service, we ask that you contact us in the first instance to see if we can put things right.

If you do wish to cancel, you can do so using any of the following methods:

• Post: Retriever Claim, c/o Claim Simple Ltd, The Old Fuel Depot, Twemlow Lane, Holmes Chapel, Crewe, CW4 8GJ
• In person: Written notice may also be delivered in person at the above address.

State your intent to cancel this agreement clearly.

Your statutory cooling-off rights

You have 14 days from the date you sign the Terms of Engagement to cancel this agreement without charge. This is your statutory cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Cancellation after the cooling-off period

If you wish to cancel after the 14-day cooling-off period, you may be liable to pay a cancellation fee as follows:

• If a Reasonable Offer of Compensation has already been received from the Landlord (whether or not you have accepted it): you will be liable for the full Success Fee that would have been payable on successful conclusion of the Claim, capped at 25% (inclusive of VAT) of the offer received.
• If no Reasonable Offer of Compensation has been received but work has been undertaken by Retriever Claim or the Panel Solicitor, you will be required to pay a fee that is fair and reasonable to cover costs incurred. This will be calculated at £60 per hour and charged on a time-incurred basis.

Notice of cancellation in writing

If your notice of cancellation is sent by post, we recommend you send it by recorded delivery, as the date of cancellation will be deemed to be served from the date of postage, not the date of receipt.

You will receive written confirmation from us that your claim has been cancelled within 14 days of our receiving your notice.
